Balarishta is a liquid Ayurvedic medicine used mainly in neurological conditions. Balarista contains 5 – 10 % of self-generated alcohol in it. This self-generated alcohol and the water present in the product acts as a media to deliver water and alcohol soluble the active herbal components to the body.

Balarishtam is a good therapeutic measure for paralysis, arthritic disorders, and spinal disorders. It helps to manage the cervical spondylosis, frozen shoulder, low backache, knee pain due to osteoarthritis, etc. Additionally, it has restorative action and improves body strength and nourishes the Vata organs. Some ingredients in the Balarishta improve digestion and liver functions.

  • Bala (Sida cordifolia) – root / whole plant – 4.8 kg
  • Ashwagandha (Withania somnifera) – root – 4.8 kg
  • water for decoction – 49.152 luters, boiled and reduced to 12.288 liters.
  • Jaggery – 14.400 kg
  • Dhataki (Woodfordia fruticosa)  – flower – 768 g
  • Payasya (Ipomea digitata) –  – root  /whole plant96 g
  • Eranda (Ricinus communis) – root – 96 g
  • Rasna (Pluchea lanceolata) – root -48 g
  • Cardamom – 48 g
  • Prasarini (Paederia foetida) – root – 48 g
  • Clove Usheera (Vetiveria zizanioides) – 48 g

Dosage of Balarishta

The general dosage of Balarishtam (Balarishta) is as follows.
Children 2.5 ml to 10 ml *
Adults 10 ml to 30 ml *
Twice a day with equal amount of water
Best Time to Take: Immediately After Breakfast and Dinner
